Thea was on a hunt, tracking down a vampire that had been killing several people around where she used to live. She hadn’t been back to New York in a while and was debating calling Roy, or at the very least going to check up on him, even if it meant keeping to the shadows as she’d done the last time she’d been to the city. After her training she’d become something different, someone different. Having to leave Roy had hurt her so much that she wanted to make it so that she would become stronger, and by the end of the year she’d come a long way. No longer did she feel physical pain as she once had though it made her more reckless when it came to hunting. Often times she’d end up severely hurt though hadn’t noticed until much later. She was still recovering from the last attack by a vampire she’d encountered but her wound didn’t bother her even if it was plain to see on her neck. Her body was marked with scars from the various wounds inflicted upon her both during her training and since it had ended, what was adding one more to it?
Sitting in the hotel room she was looking over her research looking for a pattern in the attacks when she noticed that the majority of them seemed to be around where she and Roy had once lived. She didn’t know if he still lived there though she couldn’t help the concern she felt when she realized it. Thea would feel horrible if anything had happened to him. Grabbing a wooden stake and a blade which she hid in her boot, the stake hidden in the inside pockets of her leather jacket she zipped it up and started out of the hotel. Considering her hotel was on the other side of the city she hopped into her car and took off. It was strange to be back in the neighborhood and she had to stop herself from driving to see if he was still living in the same place. She needed to stay on mission and then deal with whether she would go see him or not. Parking near the park where most of the victims seemed to go missing she decided to take a walk through it, after all, she fit the description of most of the victims and hoped that she could draw the vampire out that way.
As she wandered through the park she noticed a man holding onto a woman and while at first glance, and likely to anyone who might happen to pass by it might look as though the two were merely making out Thea could tell it was something else. Pulling the long blade out of her boot she made her way over to them and slipped it between them, holding it pressed to the vampires throat. “Let her go you sick, son of a bitch,” she demanded, pressing the blade to his throat more and was sure she’d drawn blood. She was strong though not as strong as a vampire. That didn’t matter to her though, she wouldn’t back down. Being so close he could simply spin around and grab her instead but Thea figured it was better her than some innocent girl. At least she knew how to handle and kill a vampire unlike most people and that was exactly what she planned on doing. Why she didn’t just force the stake into him to start with though she didn’t know.
